I still see yellow... the words all stylists dread hearing

Date: October 5th, 2018

“I still see yellow.” We've heard endless mocking memes on this phrase and how stylists get frustrated when guests don’t see colors the way we see them.

“Colors can be measured and quantified in various ways; indeed, a person's perception of colors is a subjective process whereby the brain responds to the stimuli that are produced when incoming light reacts with the several types of cone cells in the eye.”

It is very possible that your guest DOES in-fact see yellow when looking at their white blonde. Adjusting their ash level can be necessary for them to see a true “cool” tone.

Here's a tip! A simple way to see if you and your guest see color the same way as you, is to look at a few color swatches and describe the undertones and ask them what colors they see. This will help you with the guests future appointments!
